1. What research methods have you employed for this project and why?
I applied primary and secondary research methods to make some inspirations in my previous blog.
1) primary research: a field investigation
In the project, the site will be designed in a small island of Soar river in Leicester, which is the city where I live now. Thus, I will apply the method of field research to go to the site, to investigate the traffic, people flow and buildings in and around the location.2) secondary research: searching for some information from the Internet
Since the school library is closed during the epidemic, I will search the Internet for various information related to the hotel and the painting, and this information includes some interpretations of the painting and its painter, some buildings like the hotel, and the history of the site.2. What have you researched and why was this important? (i.e. how did it inform your work?)
Field investigation includes:
- Surrounding building
- Traffic
- Attraction
- Geographic position
The building's research includes:
- Cube Hotel / SU Architects
- PRY1 Retreat Hotel / Research Studio Panin
- ANNSO Hill Hotel / STUDIO QI
What further research methods do you intend to use and what will you research?
Next, I will continue to study each of my cases in depth. I will study the overall layout, guest room layout, streamline arrangement and feature space of each of my cases.
You need to state the actual research you carried out - who are you researching? and how is it useful be more specific
