This week I started taking DMUIC's summer second term online course.
I will continue to show here my works, writings and design ideas related to architectural art on the learning process.
Since I studied architectural design in university in China, I have always understood that the basic principles of architectural design are practical, economical and beautiful. In my opinion, the architectural design should give consideration to aesthetics on the basis of practicality and economy. Economics is easy to understand, but practicality is a complex principle.
Practicality for whom, where and when?
I saw this staircase intersecting the hall in the DMU building of the Department of Art Design and Architecture. It is undoubtedly beautiful, but it is also practical. A combination of stairs leads to the upstairs in different directions.

According to the tasks of this term, I will search for academic resources and pictures through the online library of DMU and the Internet to get some elements and inspiration for the design.
For design tools, I will use some software, such as Photoshop, Sketchup, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator and so on, to deepen and complete my design concept from my sketchbook.
